Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata
12/13/2026 10:30 AM
The Christmas story is filled with references to angels. Their appearance brings both wonder and excitement and they have been the subject of many pieces of Christmas music. In 2026, the 1st UMC Chancel Choir and Orchestra will present a cantata of readings and music focused on what the angels bring to stories of the Advent and Christmas season.
Musical selections include carol arrangements and original compositions, and there will be opportunities for you to participate in this musical celebration.
There are two presentations of "Oh, Hear the Angel Voices." The first is during the 10:30 am worship service in the Sanctuary. The other happens at 7:00 pm (also in the Sanctuary). A special Christmas offering will be collected during the later presentation.
Oh, Hear the Angel Voices will be recorded for later airing on WVLT-TV and WBXX-TV, a Christmas present from the people of 1st UMC to you.
